Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Michael is the Founder and Managing Partner of NewBound. Michael launched NewBound in 2019 after more 20 years at Piper Sandler, where he served as Global Head of the Consumer Investment Banking Group. Under his leadership, the group became the leading middle-market consumer practice, advising founders and management teams across sports and licensing, beauty and personal care, healthy living, and broader lifestyle verticals.
Throughout his career, Michael has partnered with visionary entrepreneurs and category-defining brands at critical inflection points — from early growth through strategic sale or public offering. He founded NewBound to continue supporting founders building the next generation of enduring consumer businesses, bringing deep sector expertise, capital markets experience, and an extensive strategic network to each partnership.
Outside of NewBound, Michael serves on the Board of New Era Cap Company and is a Trustee of The Nature Conservancy. He lives in Park City, Utah, where he enjoys all the mountains have to offer.
Michael is a graduate of St. John’s University and has an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Operating Partner
Ron is a renowned operator and executive wtih experience across the consumer and technology sectors. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Código 1530, a high-growth tequila brand with a global footprint backed by Pernod Ricard. Prior to Código, Ron served as CEO of Crocs, where he led the company through a period of significant growth, scaling annual revenue to more than $1 billion and helping reposition the brand for long-term success.
He brings decades of experience building and scaling iconic consumer businesses, with a track record of operational discipline, brand stewardship, and strategic growth. Over the course of his career, Ron has worked closely with founders and executive teams at critical stages, helping companies refine strategy, grow distribution, and build enduring brands.

Principal
Sydney Couval is a Principal at NewBound Ventures, where she focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and supporting investments. She partners closely with founders on growth strategy, capital planning, and key operational initiatives, and serves on the boards of Alice Mushrooms and Gratsi.
Prior to joining NewBound, Sydney built experience across venture investing and technical research, with a background spanning consumer, deep tech, and advanced materials. She is also actively involved in the broader innovation ecosystem, including strategic investment initiatives within advanced technology sectors.
Outside of work, she enjoys travel, film photography, and getting lost in a good book.
Sydney holds a degree in Physics from Northeastern University.

Analyst
Daltyn joins NewBound from Lunr Capital, where he helped build and grow the team's underwriting process. He brings seven years of experience as a professional soccer player in the USL, a career highlighted by a league championship and multiple playoff appearances. This competitive drive extends into leadership; he recently served as the Executive Vice President for the USL Players Association, where he collaborated in directing organizational strategy and initiatives.
When he’s not analyzing the next big opportunity, you’ll likely find him exploring the outdoors, scouting the city for the best new foods, or in the stands at a sporting event.
He holds a BBA in Finance with a minor in Marketing from the University of Central Arkansas.
