Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Michael and Jeff co-founded NewBound in 2019 with a vision to bridge the gap between visionary founders with big ideas and a lack of consumer-centric capital. Prior to co-founding NewBound, Michael worked with some of the fastest-growing consumer brands in the world as an investment banker and strategic advisory as the Global Group Head of Piper Sandler & Co.’s Consumer Investment Banking. He brings tremendous transactional knowledge, strategic expertise and leadership insights to our founders and portfolio companies.
Michael has a personal passion for the outdoors and is an active trustee for The Nature Conservancy. When not enjoying the Minnesota summers Michael can be found skiing and enjoying the winter weather with his two children in Park City, Utah.

Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Before co-founding NewBound with Michael in 2019, Jeff was the Global Head of Equities for Piper Sandler & Co., where he led the firm’s equity research and sales and trading practice. Prior to becoming an executive at Piper Sandler he was a top-ranked Senior Equity Research Analyst for 10 years, where he covered a variety of high-growth, segment-defining consumer brands. He was also a frequent commentator on CNBC and Bloomberg. Jeff is also the original architect and author of Piper Sandler’s “Taking Stock with Teens.” The report continues to be regarded as one of Wall Street’s most impactful and widely-anticipated publications. Jeff combines his passions for deep industry research, innovation and organizational excellence to create lasting impact for NewBound’s portfolio companies.Jeff is an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loves sharing the joy of the game with family and friends. During summer months, he enjoys spending time out on the Minnesota lakes with his three sons.

Ron has built a career as a renowned operator and executive spanning both the consumer and technology sectors and has worked together with Michael and Jeff in various capacities over the past 15 years. Ron is the current Co-Founder and CEO of Código 1530, a high-growth tequila company with a global footprint backed by Pernod Ricard. Prior to founding Código, Ron was the CEO of Crocs for 5 years where he grew the company to more than $1 billion in annual revenue. Ron began his career as an executive at Flex (previously Flextronics), a leading global diversified manufacturing company.

Vice President
Maggie joined NewBound in early 2021 and is based in Chicago. She leads NewBound’s thesis areas in beauty and personal care, pet, and B2B software. Prior to NewBound, Maggie worked at Arbor Investments, where she executed leverage buyout investments in middle-market food and beverage companies. Prior to Arbor, she worked at Piper Sandler & Co. where she advised growth and late-stage consumer companies on strategic alternatives and M&A transactions.
Maggie is deeply passionate about cultivating community and access for women and minorities in finance. She is the co-founder and current chair of the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity’s National Junior Steering Committee and also serves on the Associates Board for RUSH University in Chicago. She is also a member of the Women on Boards Project.

Investor
Sydney joined NewBound in 2022 and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating potential investments, as well as supporting existing portfolio companies. Prior to joining NewBound, she was a Direct Lending Analyst at First Eagle Investments working on the firm’s middle market direct lending team. Prior to First Eagle she was a Venture Capital Analyst at Par Equity in Scotland, where she evaluated early-stage technology startups.
Sydney has a strong passion for emerging technology, particularly data science & the future of computing and artificial intelligence applications. She started her career conducting big data analytics research while receiving a B.S. in Physics from Northeastern University. Sydney is an ardent traveler, and when not at work can usually be found getting lost in the woods or in a good book.
